WBFuzzy Control is a software procedure designed to optimize anaerobic digestion processes for maximum biogas yield from heterogeneous biomass in the shortest timeframe possible.
Three Key Elements
The system addresses three primary elements:
1. Online Instrumentation
Uses readily available market equipment at sustainable costs, interpreting signals through inferential processes to generate early-warning information about process stability (VFA, pH, alkalinity, COD) and performance metrics (biogas flow, CH₄ percentage).
2. Integrated Real-Time Management
Manages both quantitative and qualitative aspects of digester feeding, considering biochemical characteristics of biomass matrices, potential biogas production (BMP — Biochemical Methane Potential), and biomass procurement costs.
3. Fuzzy Logic Control
Employs multi-fuzzy knowledge-based control systems to interpret and manage functional deviations promptly, accounting for the slow dynamics (20 days) inherent in anaerobic digestion processes.
Related Software: DAX-2
The DAX-2 companion software analyzes anaerobic digester functionality, providing:
- Instability detection and diagnostics
- Early-warning alerts with root cause identification
- Troubleshooting guidance for remedial actions
